My life is a myriad of songs and smells
They take me home to sweet Virginia
When I’ve been so far away
I imagine leaves beginning to fall
A wagon wheel on a country road
My heart never stops singing
When I think of sweet Virginia
I’m at home
With a pretty woman in my arms
And a light chill in the air
We’ll start a fire
By the light of a match
The smell of coffee and dark beer
They transport me to sweet Virginia
I’ll always be at home
Contemplating the sultry gifts in life
As my sweet southern Virginia
Makes her faint of season
With leaves of many colors
Red, and yellow, gold and bright
The smell of wood burning
On a cool autumn night
Old Virginia lights my fire
The sights and smells take me higher
No matter how far I travel
What sights I see
I’ll always return to sweet Virginia
Here I’m home
A place I rather like to be
