Set My Sights

As I looked out on the sea today
The waters were oh so blue
And as I looked out I thought of you
You once walked on water they say
Sometimes I wish I could do the same
If only I was Peter, no I’m John
Still a name of thunder I don
I want this to mean something for me
I have a request for the son
Wash away the meaningless I see
I long for the day my journey’s begun

What a man am I
Oh no man am I
What a man am I
Oh no man am I

Make me a man
A man of God

There lies a mirror in front of me
The mirror’s character is not there
I only wish a reflection of thee
For this I never cease to stare
You were a man of lived devotion
You gave it all, all your attention
To pray, and live and love and die
In this you revealed your Godly intention
In Christ now, I want follow suit say I
Let us die, let us die
Then from our graves we will fly

What a man am I
Oh no man am I
What a man am I
Oh no man am I

Make me a man
A man of God

Help me to see the broken sod
The narrow road is winding down
I will follow the path you have trod
And soon we will hear your trumpet sound
I will be like the father I’ve found
We will hear his trumpet sound
Let us see his true life’s reflection
Even in this broken mirror
The broken mirror that lies on the ground
